Abstract

The cis and trans isomers of 3-methyl-1-tert-butyl-4-acetyl- and 3-methyl-1-tertbutyl-4-carbomethoxy-4-piperidols, the three-dimensional configurations of which were established by means of their IR and UV spectra, were synthesized in order to study the interrelationship between the structure and reactivity of stereoisomeric piperidines.
