Abstract
It is shown that 1,2-dialkylbenzimidazoles react with propargyl bromide to give 1,2-dialkyl-3-(2-propynyl)benzimidazolium hydrobromides, the cyclization of which leads to 2-methylpyrrolo[1,2-a]benzimidazole derivatives.
