Abstract
Methods for synthesizing the condensed systems pyrano[3,4-c]pyridine, thiopyrano[3,4-c]pyridine, pyrano[3,4-c]pyran, and thiopyrano[3,4-c]pyran have been developed from the dinitriles of 2,2-dimethyltetrahydropyran(thiopyran)-ylidene malonic acids.
