Zusammenfassung
In mehreren Versuchsreihen wurde das melanotische Transplantations-melanom beim Hamster (M. Mel 1, Fortner) hinsichtlich Strahlensensibilität in vitro, Empfindlichkeit der Melanomzellen auf Unterkühlung, auf Cytostatica, Speicherungsfähigkeit von radioaktivem Jod, aktiver und passiver Immunisierungsmöglichkeit tierexperimentell untersucht.

Die Strahlenempfindlichkeit ist dosisabhängig. In vitro-Bestrahlungen des frisch gewonnenen Hamstermelanomgewebes mit 600 r, 3000 r, 4500 r verlängern die Inkubationsperiode bis zum Angehen des Transplantates in steigendem Maße; bei 4500 r gehen einzelne Tumoren nicht mehr an, bei 6000 r, 12000 r und 15000 r ist die Schädigung in allen Fällen irreversibel, so daß die transplantierten Tumoren nicht angehen. Bei Impfungen mit bestrahltem Gewebe sterben häufig einzelne Tiere innerhalb von 1–3 Wochen aus unbekannten Gründen.

Durch Unterkühlung von Melanomgewebe bei — 28°C während 11, 23 und 48 Tagen tritt eine der Dauer der Unterkühlung proportionale reversible Schädigung ein, die sich in zunehmender Verlängerung der Inkubationsperiode bis zum Angehen des verimpften Tumormaterials äußert.

Das melanotische Hamstermelanom scheint gegenüber Thio-Tepa, etwas weniger gegenüber Cytoxan sensibel zu sein. Radioaktives Jod wird im melanotischen Melanomgewebe des Hamsters nicht selektiv gespeichert.

Eine aktive oder passive Immunisierung gegenüber Hamstermelanom kann nicht mit Sicherheit nachgewiesen werden. Es ist ohne weiteres möglich, Hamster 2–3 mal mit Tumormaterial zu impfen, wobei sich die Zweit- und Drittimpfungen gleich entwickeln wie die Primärtransplantate. Durch intraperitoneale Injektionen von kleinen Serummengen melanotischer Hamster lassen sich Tiere gegen Melanomtransplantate nicht schützen, ebensowenig durch Injektionen von Meerschweinchenserum.
