Synthesis, properties, and mass-spectrometric behavior of 6-substituted imidazo[1,2-f]xanthines

Abstract

Alkylation at the N(6) atom of 6H-1-ethyl ethyl(methyl-2-phenylimidazo[1,2-f]xanthenes was realized with α-halogenoacetic esters. The alkylation of these compounds with glycidyl alcohol in the presence of organic bases also leads to 6-(dihydroxypropyl) derivatives.
