Abstract
Derivatives of a new heterocyclic system were obtained in the reaction of 2-mercapto-4-ethoxycarbonylmethylthiazole with α-haloacetonitriles. Cyanine dyes were synthesized on the basis of these products, and their absorption spectra were studied.
