Abstract
10-Amino-, 10-phthalimido-, and 10-(p-toluamido)-6-(p-tolyl)phenanthridines and 5,10-di(ptolyl)-4,9-diazapyrene, the oxidation of which gives the 4,9-dioxide. were synthesized.
