Abstract
1-Aryl-5,6-dihydrouracils and 1-aryl-2-thio-5,6-dihydrouracils are synthesized from N-aryl-β-alanines and esters of N-aryl-β-ureidopropionic acid. The dihydrouracils were hydrolyzed by 0.1 N alkali.
