Untersuchungen zur Tumorzellsynchronisation mit Vincristin (VCR) — eine Möglichkeit zur Verbesserung der Radiotherapie?
Investigations on tumour cell synchronisation with vincristine — a possibility for the improvement of radiotherapy
The partial synchronisation of tumours ia considered a possibility for improvement of radiotherapy. With this method, the tumour cell population is synchronised into a radiosensitive phase of the cycle.
45 patients with prognostically unfavourable recurrent carcinoma were treated with vincristine, a metaphase blocker. The treatment was carried out as a single injection weekly for six weeks at a dosage of 0.03 mg/kg b.w. or as an infusion over 25 hrs at a dosage of 0,05 mg/kg b.w. The total radiation dose amounted to 2000 to 3000 r focal dose. In order to measure the synchronisation effect obtained, the mitosis and after beginning treatment with vincristine. The index rose continuously from 1.3% to 10.2% 25 hrs after beginning treatment. There were large fluctuations in the synchronisation effect obtained from tumour to tumour. However, it could be demonstrated after repeated radiotherapy.
The results and complications of this therapy are reported.
