Summary
In 100 human temporal bones, 29 facial nerves had aberrant neurons in the interior of the facial nerve trunk from the pyramidal segment to the level of the lower limit of the stapedial muscle.
These neurons had close approximation to the sensory component. This relation was clearly demonstrated by studies of two cases with motor components degenerated by pontine gliomas.
The probable connections from these neurons to the Arnold's nerve and the tympanic plexuses were demonstrated by flat reconstruction of parts of the nerves.
Zusammenfassung
Von 100 menschlichen Felsenbeinen fanden sich bei 29 aberrierende Neurone im Stamm des N. facialis im Bereich der Pars pyramidalis und der Pars verticalis. Diese Neurone lagen im sensorischen Teil des Nerven, wie die Untersuchung von 2 Fällen mit Degeneration des motorischen Anteils bei Kleinhirnbrückenwinkeltumoren zeigte. Die Verbindung dieser Neurone zum Arnoldschen Nerven und zum Plexus tympanicus ließ sich durch graphische Rekonstruktion von Teilen des N. facialis aufzeigen.
