As(III) wird quantitativ an Zinn(II)-äthylxanthat-Säulen festgehalten.
Summary
The determination of small amounts of arsenic in the presence of antimony requires the separation of arsenic after the irradiation, because the γ-lines of the radionuclides 76As and 122Sb are so close together that they usually cannot be fully separated in γ-ray spectrometry. Arsenic is selectively extracted from 10 M HCl solutions with ethylxanthate. This extraction permits the separation of nearly all other elements including antimony. From this reaction a selective, one step column extraction procedure for arsenic has been developed. As(III) is quantitatively retained on columns coated with chloroform solutions of tin(II) ethylxanthate. The separation power of these columns for As(III), Sb(III), Se(IV) and some other elements has been studied. The procedure has been applied to the determination of arsenic in titanium dioxide samples containing a comparatively large amount of antimony and in biological material.
