Summary
The paper presents a new family with the Alport Syndrome. 3 out of 5 children and the mother showed the typical symptoms of the Alport syndrome. Pathological changes in the aminoacid metabolisme could not be found, nor glucosuria or aminoaciduria. But it was found that some members of the family had disturbances of the central nervous system, as described in other families. One of the children had a nephropathy and a eosinophilic adenoma of the pituitary and a postpubertal adrenogenital syndrome. Anotherone had beside a nephropathy and deafness of the inner ear type absences and calcification of both adrenal glands. Since nephropathy and deafness are characteristic for the Alport Syndrome additional defects especially of the central nervous system do not seem to be unusual.
