Zusammenfassung
-
1.
Summary
-
1.
The excretion of copper in urine was studied in 247 infants and children with various diseases.
-
2.
In 44 children who suffered from virus hepatitis there was found a constant elevated excretion of copper in urine.
-
3.
Four children with the clinical signs of nephrotic syndrome demonstrated a marcable elevation of the copper excretion in urine before a specific therapy with prednisone was begun, due to the disturbance of the permeability of the glomerulum membrane. There was found a parallelism between the protein loss in urine and the copper content; the role of coeruloplasmine is mentioned.
-
4.
Under many other sick children there was found a very increased excretion of copper in urine in a child with a primary carcinoma of the liver and in another child with a cirrhosis of the liver in a degree of decompensation.
-
5.
The mechanism of variability of the copper excretion in urine by the nephron is discussed.
