Host cultivars as factors in detached leaf cultures of Puccinia graminis f.sp. tritici

Abstract

Race 21 of Puccinia graminis f. sp. tritici was grown on detached leaves of seven wheat cultivars and one cultivar each of barley, rye, and oats. The fungus grew and sporulated best on Agra Local wheat, RS 6 barley, and Petkussar rye but not on Khapli wheat or Kent oats.
