Identification of mixtures of two or more barbiturates by means of mass spectrometry

Abstract

Mixtures of two or more drugs, isolated from autopsy material, giving only one spot on TLC can be resolved and identified by means of mass spectrometry. Mixtures of barbiturates, carbromal, glutethimide, methaqualone, phenacetin and salicylamide have been investigated.

Zusammenfassung

Aus Leichenmaterial isolierte Arzneistoffe, die im Dünnschicht-Chromatogramm innerhalb eines Fleckes liegen, konnten durch Vergleich mit den Spektren entsprechender Gemische aus Reinsubstanzen massenspektrometrisch identifiziert werden. Untersucht wurden Gemische aus Barbitursäure-Derivaten, Carbromal, Glutethimid, Methaqualon, Phenacetin und Salicylamid.
