Transfection of protoplasts of Bacillus subtilis with ϕ29 DNA

Summary

The protoplast-polyethyleneglycol(PEG) transformation procedure of Chang and Cohen (2) can be used for ϕ29 DNA transfection. ϕ29 DNA without terminal proteins is not transfectious in the protoplast-PEG procedure.
