Abstract
Relativistically correct expressions are derived for the time-averaged total force and torque acting on a rotating conducting circular cylinder, immersed in an incident plane electromagnetic wave. With the help of Maxwell's stress tensor analytical expressions can be obtained for the time-averaged force and torque.
