Zeitschrift für Parasitenkunde Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Analyses revealed the following chemical composition for Diclidophora merlangi: Water, 72% fresh wt, ash, 8.4% dry wt, carbon 45.8% dry wt, hydrogen 7.0% dry wt, nitrogen 11.5% dry wt, phosphorus 2.1% dry wt, sulphur 2.1% dry wt, protein 72% dry wt, glycogen 1.8% ethanol-extracted dry wt, lipid 4.9% fresh wt, DNA 0.08% fresh wt, RNA 0.9% fresh wt, and ethanol-extractable carbohydrate 2800–5200 μg/g wet wt. Details of the components of ash, lipid and ethanol-extractable carbohydrate are given.
