Summary

Among 74 patients 24 show signs of Epiphysiolysis capitis femoris on both sides. Complications following a technically good transfixation of the epiphysis with wires are rare. On the basis of these findings the prophylactic transfixation of the so called normal side seems principally indicated.

Zusammenfassung

24 von 74 eigenen Patienten zeigen Zeichen der Epiphysiolysis capitis femoris auf beiden Seiten. Die Komplikationsquote bei technisch einwandfrei durchgeführten Transfixationen ist äußerst gering. Auf Grund dieser Untersuchungsergebnisse erscheint die prophylaktische Transfixation der „gesunden“ Seite prinzipiell indiziert.
