Summary

The authors have tested by means of an “Instron” tensile strength machine the deformations of intact and pathologic articular cartilage under compression. They have found that both elastic and permanent deformations in pathologic areas exceed the values measured on intact areas.

Die Autoren testeten mittels einer „Instron“-Zugkraftmaschine die Deformierungen von intaktem und pathologischem Knorpel unter Druck. Sie fanden, daß sowohl elastische als auch dauerhafte Deformitäten in pathologischen Arealen die Werte der unversehrten Areale übertrafen.
