Summary
A case of transitory cortical blindness was presented in connection with an electrical accident. As the tempero-occipital region had been previously damaged due to concussion, it was not possible to differentiate whether the electrical injury was the causal or only the precipitating factor. However, a differentiation with regard to simulation and hysteria could be made with the help of the VER. Therefore, the VER represents a valuable aid in the differential diagnostic clarification of cortical blindness.
