Summary

The amorphous material accumulated in the joint space of a McKee-Farrar endoprothesis after a 3-years' period of function has been analysed. Light- and transmission electron microscopical photograms were performed in order to describe micromorphological aspects of the acetabular surface. Origin and development of scratch marks are discussed.

Zusammenfassung

Bei einer McKee-Farrar-Totalendoprothese (ca. 3 Jahre implantiert) wurde die im Innern der Gelenkkapsel vorgefundene amorphe Masse mit Hilfe verschiedener Analysenmethoden untersucht. Um die Mikromorphologie der Pfannenoberfläche dieser Prothese zu beschreiben, wurden Rauhtiefendiagramme und licht-sowie elektronenmikroskopische Aufnahmen angefertigt. Die Entstehung der Schleifspuren wird diskutiert.
