Zusammenfassung

Das arthromyodysplastische Syndrom (Arthrogryposis multiplex congenita) ist ein wohl umschriebenes, nicht allzu seltenes Krankheitsbild. Bis jetzt sind mindestens 219 Fälle in der Literatur beschrieben, zu denen 4 eigene hinzugefügt werden. Obwohl die Kontrakturen der Gelenke und Störungen in Entwicklung, Ausbildung und Ansatz der Muskulatur die Symptomatologie beherrschen, sind sie immer nur Teile eines Komplexes verschiedenster Mißbildungen. Die pathologisch-anatomischen Befunde sind spärlich und vieldeutig, schließen aber primär entzündliche Veränderungen weitgehend aus. Ätiologie und Pathogenese sind auch heute noch problematisch. Die symptomatische Behandlung muß auf lange Sicht geplant werden, ihre Ergebnisse sind bescheiden, angesichts der Schwere des Krankheitsbildes aber doch befriedigend.
