Summary

Osteolathyrism was induced in rats by administration of aminoacetonitrile. Using histometrical methods and tetracycline labelling a significant decrease in the amount of bone trabeculae was found. This severe osteoporosis is related to a diminished formation of new bone.

Zusammenfassung

An Ratten wurde durch Verabreichung von Aminoacetonitril ein Osteolathyrismus erzeugt. Mittels morphometrischer Methoden und der Tetracyclinmarkierung wurde eine signifikante Verminderung der Spongiosadichte festgestellt und diese massive Osteoporose auf einen verminderten Anbau von Knochensubstanz zurückgeführt.
