Summary

Reported are the clinical, radiological and histological investigations of 44 disarticulated alloarthroplastic hip joints. Described are the microscopic and submicroscopic changes of the prothetic bed and of the regenerated capsule influenced from the synthetics abrasions. The observations leave the conclusion that, in addition to the known mechanical and toxic influences, foreign body reaction of the localised capsule tissues to the Polyester abrasions contribute to a premature loosening of the artificial hip joint.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird berichtet über klinische, röntgenologische und feingewebliche Untersuchungen an 44 ausgelockerten alloarthroplastischen Hüftgelenken. Die mikroskopischen und submikroskopischen Veränderungen des Prothesenlagers und des Kapselregenerats unter dem Einfluß von Kunststoffabrieb werden beschrieben. Die Beobachtungen lassen den Schluß zu, daß neben den bekannten mechanischen und toxischen Einwirkungen Fremdkörperreaktionen des umgebenden Kapselgewebes auf Polyesterabrieb zu einer vorzeitigen Lockerung des künstlichen Hüftgelenkes beitragen.
