Zusammenfassung
Nach einleitenden Betrachtungen über die Hüftarthrodese nach Charnley werden das Instrumentarium und die Operationstechnik genauer besprochen. Die Ergebnisse von 59 klinisch und röntgenologisch nachkontrollierten Fällen werden dargestellt. Die subjektiv und objektiv guten Resultate werden an Hand zweier Fälle näher illustriert.
In der Diskussion wird nochmals auf die Besonderheiten dieses Arthrodesetypus eingegangen. Zusammenfassend ergeben sich gegenüber anderen Methoden folgende Vorteile:

Diese Arthrodese ergibt eine stabile indolente Hüfte, ungeachtet, ob eine fibröse oder ossäre Ankylose erzielt wird.

Es ist uns keine Arthrodese bekannt, welche in so kurzer Zeit konsolidiert.

3.
Die Hospitalisationszeit ist kürzer als bei den sonst üblichen Arthrodesen.

4.
Die schmerzhafte Steifigkeit des Kniegelenkes kann bei der überwiegenden Mehrzahl der Patienten vermieden werden.
