Summary
Ethanol was given to rabbits perorally and the concentration in the vitreous body and in the blood observed. A rapid rise was followed three hours after administration by a slower fall in the ethanol concentration in the vitreous body. Analyses of the blood, performed for purposes of comparison, showed a curve which was practically the same in direction. Based on a 100% volume of solution, the maximum concentration in the blood increases by almost two-fold as compared with that in the vitreous body.
