Abstract
A simple way for coating thin liquid films on solid supports is by means of the upward motion of the solid through a bath of wetting liquid. The Van Rossum experimental relationship for this withdrawal problem has recently been recast in another form by Binnie. Alternative representations of with-drawal are given here for comparison with the work of Binnie.
