Zusammenfassung
Nach einer Übersicht der biologischen Eigenschaften des Cortisons werden die bei der ACTH- bzw. Cortisonbehandlung von mehr als 60 an verschiedenen Hautkrankheiten leidenden Patienten gewonnenen klinischen Erfahrungen mitgeteilt. Hauptindikationen der Cortisontherapie innerhalb des dermatologischen Fachbereiches sind das endogene Ekzem, Urticaria, psoriatische Erythrodermie, Dermatitis exfoliativa, Dermatitis e medicatione, solaris, Verbrennungen, akuter Erythematodes. Cortison kann ferner versucht werden bei Sklerodermie, subakutem Erythematodes u. a. Die Wirkungsweise des Cortisons und ihre praktische Bedeutung werden besprochen. Der therapeutische Effekt beruht auf einer Hemmung der lokalen Reaktionsvorgänge. Die Cortisonbehandlung wird als histotrope einer ätiotropen gegenübergestellt. Endgültige Heilungen sind zu erwarten, wenn es möglich ist, die histotrope mit der ätiotropen Therapie zu kombinieren.
