Summary

A modification of a method to evaluate drugs with tranquilizing activity in male mice with fighting behaviour induced by isolation is described. Reduction in fighting time rather than a reduction in the incidence of fighting episodes is used as a criterion of evaluation. The dose response regression lines for chlorpromazine, chlordiazepoxide and meprobamate obtained with this method are given.
