Summary

The influence of repeated loading and unloading cycles on the hysteresis loop of the stress/strain diagram was investigated on seven species of Indian timber varying in density from 0.33 to 1.001 g/cm3. The decrease in the area of the hysteresis loop was generally found to be dependent both on density and direction of application of load.
