Summary
In clinical studies the pressure values as indicated by the Mackay-Marg Tonometer (P MMT) are higher than those given by Goldmann's applanation Tonometer (P AT). The difference P mMT-P AT is increasing with the level of the intraocular pressure and with the rigidity coefficient. The increase of the P MMT over the pressure of the eye before tonometry is equal to a pressure increase produced by a corneal indentation of 4.9 mm diameter.
Zusammenfassung
Die klinischen Meßergebnisse des Mackay-Marg-Tonometers (P MMT) liegen im Durchschnitt höher als die des Applanationstonometers von Goldmann (p at). Die Differenz P MMT-p at steigt mit dem Niveau des Augendruckes und mit dem Rigiditätskoeffizienten an. Die Erhöhung des P MMT über den Druck des unberührten Auges entspricht dabei einer Druckerhöhung, die im gemessenen Auge durch eine Applanation der Hornhaut mit einem Durchmesser von 4,9 mm zustande kommt.
