Summary

The blood radioactivity curve after i.v. injection of 1 microC/kg of C14 labeled serotonin runs significantly lower in schizophrenic than in normal subjects.

This finding suggests that the enzymatic degradation of exogenous serotonin might be quicker or its binding be easier by the tissues in schizophrenic patients.
