Phosphorylase, 1,4-1,6-transglucosidase and UDPG-synthetase in lenses of different species

Summary

In epithelium and cortex of human, calf, rabbit, rat and guinea pig lenses considerable phosphorylase-activity can be demonstrated histochemically. In the pigeon lens was phosphorylase not demonstrable. The activity of 1,4-1,6-transglucosidase could only be found in rats, whereas that of UDPG-synthetase was seen in none of the examined animals.
