Zusammenfassung

In der Zeit von 1949 bis 1978 wurden an der Universitäts-Frauenklinik Münster 82 Patientinnen mit einem primären Plattenepithel-Vaginalkarzinom behandelt. Die Behandlung bestand aus einer primären Bestrahlungstherapie, aus intravaginaler Radiumeinlage und anschließender perkutaner Bestrahlung. Die Fünfjahres-Überlebensrate betrug im Stadium I 68,4%. Keine Patientin mit Stadium IV überlebte 3 Jahre.

Summary

Between 1949 and 1978, 82 patients with primary squamous cell carcinoma of the vagina were treated at the Universitäts-Frauenklinik Münster. The treatment consisted of a combination of intravaginal radium application and external beam radiation. The 5-year survival rate in patients with stage I (FIGO) was 68.4%. None of the stage IV patients survived for more than 3 years.
