Summary
A new Thiorhodaceae species belonging to the large types of the genus Chromatium was isolated from an estuarine salt flat on Santa Cruz, Galapagos Islands, as well as from the Barnstable salt marshes, Cape Cod., Mass. The new species, Chromatium buderi, is described and differentiated from C. okenii, C. weissei and C. warmingii.
