Zusammenfassung der Ergebnisse
An gewaschenen Suspensionen von Hydrogenomonas wurde der Einfluß des CO2-Entzugs auf Phosphorylierur gsvorgänge untersucht, welche an die Oxydation von molekularem Wasserstoff, Bernsteinsäure und Glucose geknüpft sind. Die Entfernung von CO2 aus dem Milieu setzt die Überführung von anorganischem Phosphat in organische Bindung herab. Die CO2-Wirkung betrifft den Einbau sowohl in die leicht als auch in die schwer hydrolysierbare Phosphatfraktion. Der Effekt ist bei der H2-Oxydation am ausgeprägtesten, bei der Glucoseverwertung kaum vorhanden; Bernsteinsäure nimmt eine Zwischenstellung ein.
Bei der Veratmung endogenen Materials bleibt der Betrag des anorganischen Phosphats über large Zeiten nahezu erhalten. Bei der laufenden Entfernung von Kohlendioxyd wird anorganisches Phosphat freigesetzt. An Chlorella pyrenoidosa und Rhodospirillum rubrum konnten ähnliche Effekte beobachtet werden. Die Beobachtungen stellen neue Befunde für die Tatsache dar, daß CO2 nicht nur für das Wachstum von Mikroorganismen notwendig ist, sondern auch auf den Stoffwechsel ruhender Zellen Einfluß nimmt.
