Zusammenfassung
Von 42 malignen Melanoblastomen der Chorioidea wurden Gewebekulturen in einer Gesamtmenge von rund 4000 Einzelexplantaten in Rollkulturen angelegt. Unreifes Retina- und Chorioideagewebe, eine große Zahl von Hirntumoren als Gewebekultur, wurden zum Vergleich herangezogen.
Das Melanoblastom zeigt in der Gewebekultur stets eine pigmentierte oder unpigmentierte fusiforme Tumorzelle, ganz gleich, ob es sich im histologischen Schnittpräparat um fusiforme, fasciculäre, epitheloide oder Mischformen handelt. Zusätzlich wachsen auch die präexistenten Elemente von Aderhaut und Netzhaut mit. Man erkennt neben Fibroblasten die Abkömmlinge des Pigmentepithels der Retina und die Melanophoren der Uvea.
Modulationen von Tumorzellen, wie sie Reese und Ehrlich sahen, konnten niemals registriert werden. Die Melanoblastomzelle ist neuroektodermalen Ursprungs. Ihre Zuordnung zur Schwannschen Zelle erscheint unsicher.
