Symmetry-relations for the classical two-dimensional nonlinear O(n-σ)-model

Abstract

We prove the identity of two Bäcklund transformations discussed in the literature and the corresponding conservation laws for the nonlinear O(n-σ) model. Furthermore, we exhibit more clearly the relation between the dual transformation and the Noether symmetry.
