Zusammenfassung
Die Langerhansschen Inseln von hungernden Fröschen mit starker Reduktion des exokrinen Pankreasgewebes werden licht- und elektronenmikroskopisch in Hinblick auf verschiedene Zelltypen untersucht.

Die absolut häufigste Zelle ist im typischen Fall polar organisiert und prismatisch. Sie enthält gomoripositives Material und wird deshalb als B-Zelle bezeichnet. Elektronenmikroskopisch ist sie durch Ansammlungen von Sekretgranula sowie mäßige Ausbildung von Ergastoplasma, Golgiapparat und Mitochondrien charakterisiert.

Phloxinophile Zellen sind wesentlich seltener, erscheinen dichter granuliert und besitzen einen durch Ausläufer zerklüfteten Zelleib. Besonderes Merkmal dieser Zellen sind chromophobe Einschlüsse, die lysosomartigen Körpern entsprechen.

Zwei weitere seltene Zellformen, die nur lichtmikroskopisch beschrieben werden konnten, sind gomorinegativ.

Elektronenmikroskopisch wird eine granulaarme, bläschenreiche Zelle beschrieben, die der bei manchen Säugetieren beobachteten D-Zelle ähnelt.

Es konnten elektronenmikroskopisch Nervenfaseranlagerungen an Inselzellen nachgewiesen werden.
