Abstract
The mathematical consequences of two additional modes of natural selection in the AB0 blood group system are discussed, recurrent equations are given, and conditions of genetic equilibria are examined:
-
1.
Equal or different selection pressures against all AB,- BO- and AO-children from incompatible mother-child-combinations.
-
2.
Partial compensation for ABO-incompatibility due to the fact that Rh-immunization is rarer in ABO-incompatible than in compatible mother-child-combinations. In connection with the second model, the general problem how to combine two or more models of selection in one equation, is discussed.
