Abstract

The construction of a recording quantum irradiance meter is described. A commercially available filtered silicon diode sensor provides signals which are amplified logarithmically and recorded on a strip-chart recorder. Recording range is 1 to 1000 μE m-2sec-1 on three-decade chart paper. The unit will function unattended for periods of up to 7 days in 20 m of water.
