Abstract
Continuous ambulatory monitoring (CAM) has been used to detect occult bladder instability. The authors describe a specially designed vaginal transducer that can be used as part of CAM. This unit, termed the vesicovaginal holter (VVH), was used in a study group of 10 women with urinary urgency as their primary complaint, and the results obtained confirmed the feasibility of using this device. The advantages of the VVH over conventional CAM using a rectal transducer are described, along with the results obtained.
