Abstract
Mature pollen grains of Trachymene pilosa (Umbelliferae) were treated at 40° C in 2% aqueous osmium for one to six days. Exine observed by (TEM) were progressively destroyed. After six days, they were reduced to a three-dimensional structure composed only of pollenkitt.
