Summary
The palliative internal fixation of the cervical spine becomes more and more important. Independent of the patients age, the procedure is indicated by neurologic complications, very severe pain, in patients of generally good condition. The tumorous lesion of the spine should be a local restricted one.
Zusammenfassung
Die Palliativosteosynthese des Halswirbelsäulenskelettes gewinnt mehr und mehr an Bedeutung. Unabhängig vom Lebensalter erscheint sie dann indiziert, wenn durch den jeweiligen Tumor bzw. die Metastase eine neurologische Komplikation droht, wenn eine starke und anhaltende Schmerzsymptomatik besteht, wenn der Patient allgemein in gutem Zustand ist, wenn die maligne Läsion topographisch umschrieben ist. Auf besondere Probleme bei Durchführung, Vorbereitung, Planung und Diagnosesicherung des Eingriffes wird eingegangen. Fünf Fälle werden kasuistisch referiert.
