Zusammenfassung
Auf Grund eigener Befunde und an Hand der Literatur wird auf Struktur und funktioneile Bedeutung der perineuralen inneren Plattenepithelschicht, des Neurothels eingegangen. Die Zellen des Neurothels besitzen einen charakteristischen endothelähnlichen Aufbau, über den Einzelheiten mitgeteilt werden. Sie bilden zwei Schichten, welche nach neueren Untersuchungen durch eine Basalmembran miteinander verbunden sein sollen. Das Neurothel umhüllt den zugehörigen Faszikel lückenlos; es kann im Warmblüternerven spaltartige Ausstülpungen aufweisen. Häufigkeit und Bedeutung solcher Ausstülpungen sind bisher unbestimmt. Das Neurothel umschließt den Endoneuralraum, welcher an morphologischen Bestandteilen Nervenfasern, endoneurales Bindegewebe und Gefäße enthält. Die diffusionshemmende Wirkung der bindegewebigen Nervenhüllen für Elektrolytlösungen, welche man aus physiologischen Experimenten seit langem kennt, ist nach neueren Befunden als Funktion des Neurothels anzusehen. Es wird die Möglichkeit diskutiert, daß beim Wirbeltier im extrazellulären Anteil des Endoneuralraumes ein vom extraneuralen Interzellularraum verschiedenes Ionenmilieu aufrechterhalten wird.
