Abstract
We have studied normal heel pad thickness in Nigerians and found it to be greater than in American blacks (p<0.01) who have thicker heel pads than whites. Heel pad thickness was directly correlated with weight. Nigerian males had thicker heel pads than females (0.01> p<0.02). No significant effect due to shoe-wearing was found.
