Zusammenfassung
Die vor oder am Fußpunkt der extrafusalen Kontraktion auftretenden frühen Entladungen α-innervierter Spindeln im M. gastrocnemius, M. extensor digitorum long. und M. tibialis ant. der Katze werden ausnahmslos über primäre Afferenzen geleitet. Die durch efferente α-Impulse ausgelöste intrafusale Kontraktion setzt in der Regel vor der extrafusalen ein. Durch die Überschneidung beider Kontraktionen kann die repetierende Entladungsfolge α-aktivierter Spindeln reduziert oder unterbrochen werden. Der nach Muskelnervenreizung im absteigenden Teil der extrafusalen Kontraktion häufig erscheinende phasische „burst“ ist eine Folge der extrafusalen Kontraktionsumkehr. Deshalb ist er als Meßpunkt für die Pausenlänge α-innervierter Spindeln nicht geeignet.
Die Arbeitsweise dieses Spindeltyps wird deutlich, wenn möglichst solche Ventralwurzelfilamente gereizt werden, welche die α-Efferenzen für intrafusale Muskelfasern enthalten. Hierdurch kann die konkurrierende Wirkung der extrafusalen Muskulatur vermieden werden. Unter dieser Bedingung entladen α-aktivierte Spindeln bei Einzelreizen und Zerolänge des Muskels mit einer kurzen Folge regelmäßiger Repetitionen, deren Dauer als ungefähres Maß für die Kontraktionszeit der intrafusalen Fasern angesehen wird. In der anschließenden Pause reflektiert sich wahrscheinlich die Erschlaffungszeit der intrafusalen Muskulatur.
