Zusammenfassung
Die Wirkung des adrenocorticotropen Hormones (ACTH), des Glucocorticoids Prednisolon, des Mineralocorticoids Desoxycorticosteron und der Sexualhormone Oestradiol und Testosteron auf das Gehirn des wachen Kaninchens wurden elektrophysiologisch untersucht.
ACTH, Prednisolon und in abgeschwächtem Maße auch Oestradiol führen zu einer Aktivierung des Gehirnes, indem im Neocortex eine Desynchronisation, im Archicortex und Mesodiencephalon eine mehr oder weniger ausgeprägte Synchronisation sich ausbildet. Die Erregbarkeit des aufsteigenden retikulären Systems wird vor allem durch Prednisolon, etwas weniger durch ACTH und Oestradiol gesteigert. Prednisolon und in geringem Maße auch Oestradiol aktivieren zusätzlich den Hippocampus und lösen gelegentlich Spitzenentladungen aus. Zudem erleichtert Prednisolon die Fortleitung der Erregungen aus dem Hippocampus zum Cortex und Subcortex. Demgegenüber bewirken DOC und Testosteron eine partielle Dämpfung der Gehirntätigkeit, welche im Auftreten verlangsamter Wellen und in einer Zunahme der Spindeln zum Ausdruck kommt. Doch bewirkt DOC gleichzeitig eine leichte Aktivierung der Tätigkeit des Hippocampus. Die geprüften Substanzen beeinflussen die Erregbarkeit des rekrutierenden intralaminären Systems nur wenig; die spezifischen thalamo-corticalen Systeme werden dagegen durch ACTH und Prednisolon leicht aktiviert, durch Testosteron eher gedämpft.
Diese Befunde weisen auf eine gewisse zentral stimulierende Wirkung von ACTH und Prednisolon, in geringem Maße auch von Oestradiol hin. DOC und Testosteron hingegen lassen dämpfende Wirkungen auf das Gehirn erkennen.
