Histochemical and fine structural observations on the alimentary tract of Aphroditidae and Nephtyidae (Polychaeta Errantia)

Abstract

Various enzyme activities have been demonstrated in the pharynx, midgut, and caeca of the polychaetes Aphrodita aculeata, Lepidonotus squamatus, and Nephtys ciliata; these activities, together with ultrastructural characteristics, indicate both secretory and absorptive abilities.
